They increase or decrease the range of supported rims.

There are two directions for mounting the motorcycle adapter.

In one direction it can increase the clamp size by 3 “and in the other direction it can reduce the clamp size by 2″ (when you need to change the installation direction and need to manually remove the plastic jaw covers and rotate their direction).
